BEHIND THE LENS
Hi!
My name is Ellen, I am currently a sophomore at Iowa State University. I grew up in Excelsior, Minnesota not far from Minneapolis. I originally put this website together to showcase my fashion photography from my 2013 internship at Rat Race Studios with my mentors Daniel Life and Ken Friberg. Working along side them at their commercial photography studio in Minneapolis introduced me to many photographic opportunities I wouldn't have had otherwise, including the opportunity to shoot the Joynoelle Fashion Show.
I am currently pursuing a public relations degree at Iowa State University in the Greenlee School of Journalism and Mass Communication. During my time here, I have been able to continue shooting through various avenues on campus. I shot for the Iowa State Daily newspaper for a semester, and have the opportunity to photograph various artists' concerts at Iowa State. I have also done freelance work for the ISU Foundation, where I am a donor relations intern. I look forward to what my next semesters at ISU hold for my developing career, although I miss Minneapolis always!
